Bercut-ETL is the Ethernet/Gigabit Ethernet analyzer, intended for loopback performing in IP/Ethernet networks.

Key features

  • Loopback at physical, data link, network and transport layers of the OSI model.
  • Remote control via TELNET protocol.
  • Loopback control via OAM protocol. Supported modes: passive, off.

Loopback

Bercut-ETL can be used for analysis in one of the following loopback modes:

  1. At the physical layer (L1) all the incoming traffic (with error frames) is being retransmitted back without changing.
  2. At the data link layer (L2) all the incoming traffic (without error frames) is being retransmitted back with swapping destination and source MAC addresses.
  3. At the network layer (L3) all the incoming traffic (without error packets) is being retransmitted back with source and destination IP and MAC addresses swapping.
  4. At the transport layer (L4) the incoming traffic (without error packets) is being retransmitted back with source and destination MAC and IP addresses swapping and source and destination TCP/UDP addresses swapping.
